This is Heavy(with a heavy heart)

1
Its cool to be big
and flashy thanks to you. Your
music was for all.

2
It says something when
gangsters and mothers can all
JAM to your music.

Cool Review - The Chocolate Bar

Whether you're visiting the city or you're a resident, you must check out one of Decaturs best kept secrets, The Chocolate Bar.  Located in cozy downtown Decatur,Ga.  The Chocolate Bar is a mixture of trendy A-town style mixed with the comfort of chocolate. The Chocolate Bar offers a variety of chocolate infused drinks, deserts, and entrees.
While there I dined on an assortment of chocolate BonBons, which were just heavenly and experienced the chocolate espresso martini, which gave me a nice buzz and satisfied my sweet tooth. So if you have an opportunity and you find yourself in downtown Decatur, check out The Chocolate Bar for a drink, snack, and a good time, and tell them stickynah blog sent you.

Game Changer

If black people got
freedom from the start, and
already had rights?

This is how I feel when I watch the news, all the news.

Cool Review - Sweet Tea Ethics

For my first cool review I am reviewing the Youtube show Sweet Tea Ethics.  Sweet Tea Ethics is a, From Afros To Shelltoes Joint: Mixing the reasoning sessions of the local barbershop and fervor of street corner theologians, the inter-generational movement, founded by award winning writer, counselor, educator, and producer Ed Garnes, Jr., founder of From Afros To Shelltoes, covers a wide range of topics including manhood, love, bridging generation gaps, and the cross cultural appeal of hip hop. The SWEET TEA ETHICS tour not only confronts the cultural divide of elders and hip hop heads, but it also challenges clichéd visions of leadership and formal education.

This haiku was written about  my barbershop, while waiting in it. I've been going to the same one for 29 years. The barbershop was like a 2nd manhood school for me, for some, a 1st manhood school. Check out this commercial for it.

Cursive Writing, No More

Time spent on learning
U's I didn't need to get
Life through the keyboard.

After successfully signing some important papers with my signature, I began to think, this is the only time I ever use cursive writing.  Since kindergarten I have always received good grades in all my subjects and with my behavior, but always got U's(unsatisfactory) on my handwriting. Because of all the U's, my mother made me sit down and practice and practice cursive writing until my hand was sore. After all that practice I began to see the beauty in cursive writing. The way the letters connected elegantly in order to form a word and make it seem a bit more classy.

And now we do everything on computers, blackberry's, and iphones.

But as you go through you're day and you see something written in cursive, just take a moment and remember the form of writing that used to be.

My First Haiku

Shane & Co

So much work to find
this BIG ass ring for my Love.
Next, save for upgrade.

I became interested in Haiku's after watching and reading numerous haiku's by Sonia Sanchez.  With help from my friend comedian/ speaker Sugar Johnson I learned how to write haikus.
At that time, I was engaged and in the process of falling behind on payments on the ring as well starting to look for the wedding ring. The subject that was on my mind at the moment was: I'm broke but I got big dreams for that ring, so I wrote a haiku about it.
